Third Stop: MAGALLANES SQUARE


Just a few minutes from Olivarez Plaza is Magallanes Square. With several bars and restaurants, and a couple of tiangges and souvenir shops, it is perhaps the dining and night entertainment hub in Tagaytay. It is also one of the best places for viewing the Taal Lake and Volcano for free.

Magallanes Square Hotel is a convenient place to stay at as you can readily find several restaurants and establishments such as Don Juan Restaurant, Gerry’s Grill, and 7 Eleven around it. The standard rate for a deluxe room is PhP3,999 but they offer promo rates during the Christmas season, starting October.


Last Stop: SKY RANCH


A bit farther south from Olivarez Plaza and Magallanes Square is Sky Ranch, a small leisure park offering a number of rides and activities for families and friends. They have many kid-friendly attractions such as the Sky Eye, Safari Splash, and Grand Carousel. Those who are feeling more adventurous can try the Drop Tower and Super Viking.

Country Chateau Hotel is about 5 minutes away from Sky Ranch by jeepney or a private vehicle. The hotel exterior hints at its minimalist yet cozy rooms. Their lowest rate is PhP3,500 for a Deluxe Queen/Twin Room, but PhP4,500 for weekends and holidays. Located along Mahogany Avenue, it is also just a 5-minute ride to Mahogany Market, where you can enjoy the best bulalo (beef shank soup) in town.


2. The Lincoln Place

The Lincoln Place offers guests a relaxing stay with its ambient “cabin in the woods” accommodation. A studio suite costs PhP2,950 , inclusive of complimentary drinks and breakfast for two persons, and full access to various clubhouse facilities and entertainment. The Lincoln Place is about 6 minutes away from Sky Ranch by car and within walking distance to Mahogany Market.


Getting around Tagaytay is fairly easy, but it is always more practical to get an accommodation closest to your point of interest. As Christmas draws near, there is an influx of tourists.
