While the first week of March might bring hot temperatures, it should not stop you from having fun in the Metro. The clear and humid temperature is a good reason to have outdoor adventures. However, those hailing from the east will have to adjust their travel time as there will be scheduled road closures in Marcos Highway until October.

Weather: Partly Sunny with Possible Occasional Showers

The sun will shine continuously this week.

It seems like summer will be approaching fast in Manila as the weather continues to be consistently dry in the following days. Those who plan on engaging in outdoor activities this week such as hiking a nearby mountain can expect clear skies and only little chances of showers.

However, since the temperature ranges from a pretty scorching 32 °C to 34 °C, it’s advised to add an extra layer of UV protection by wearing sunscreen. Of course, wearing clothing made from light materials is also a must.

People hailing from the east or heading to it should pack an extra layer of patience when they brave Marcos Highway. Starting from February 25 to October this year, alternating road closures will be implemented in the area. Here’s a heads up on the road closure schedules by the Metro Manila Development Authority (MMDA):

  • On Sundays, Mondays, and Thursdays, westbound roads will be closed from 11:00 PM to 4:00 AM
  • On Tuesdays and Wednesdays, eastbound roads will be closed from 11:00 PM to 4:00 AM.
  • For Fridays, westbound roads from 12:00 PM to 5:00 AM will be closed.
  • For Saturdays, westbound roads will be closed from 11:00 PM to 5:00 AM.

Since the weather is warm this week, it’s a nice opportunity to head outside and bond with friends and family. If you’re looking for a place that offers more than just pretty sceneries, Pasig City’s Rainforest Park contains multiple facilities to get you moving such as an adventure park, a botanical garden, a picnic grove, an amphitheater, and tennis and basketball courts.

The rainforest’s newest water park pools will cool you down in this hot weather. A sunflower patch is also located in the park for the Instagram addict of your family or squad. Open from 8:00 AM to 12:00 AM according to their website, the park is open to the public but fees vary depending on the activity. Rates can be seen at their website.
