PGC on heightened alert as huge number of passengers are expected to travel this All Saint's Day

Cemeteries have already set up plans to ensure public safety during All Saint's Day


From October 27 to November 03, the Philippine Coast Guard (PGC) will be on full alert for the safety of the passengers at major seaports and bus terminals and to implement measures to prevent any possible accidents. This is in preparation for the All Saint's Day which is expected to bring heavy traffic in EDSA and areas where major cemeteries in Metro Manila are located including Santa Cruz, Manila and Fort Bonifacio, Taguig.

Meanwhile, some of the biggest private and public cemeteries in the city have already set up plans to ensure safety observance during All Saint's Day. October 31, which falls on a Monday, has been declared as a special non-working holiday, resulting in a long weekend that brings advantage to the public for early holiday preparation.

Paranaque has implemented rerouting scheme for All Saint's Day

The "Oplan Kaluluwa" task force has been formed to manage traffic and peace and order in Paranaque throughout the holiday break.

Starting at 6 p.m. on October 31 until November 2, the rerouting scheme will be implemented mainly along Dr. A. Santos Avenue (previously Sucat Road) where two huge and private cemeteries are located – Manila Memorial Park and Loyola Memorial Park.


‘No-window’ coding scheme extended until 8:00 PM

New areas and new time slot for cars affected by coding scheme


The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) together with the mayors of Metro Manila agreed to change the no-window number coding scheme from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM to 8:00 PM.

The said change resulted from the positive outcome of the previous policy. The Metro Manila Council composed of city mayors and the MMDAobserved that the no-window coding scheme improved traffic in the city, thus the decision extend it for one more hour. The new policy will be effective on November 1 and will last until January 31, 2017.

Affected areas for the scheme will include:
• C1: CM Recto Avenue
• C2: Pres. Quirino Avenue
• C3: Araneta Avenue
• C4: EDSA
• C5: C.P. Garcia Avenue
• C6: Bulacan-Rizal-Manila-Cavite Regional Expressway
• R1: Roxas Blvd.
• R2: Taft Avenue
• R3: SLEX
• R4: Shaw Blvd.
• R5: Ortigas Avenue
• R6: Magsaysay Blvd./Aurora Blvd.
• R7: Quezon Avenue/Commonweath Avenue
• R8: A. Bonifacio Avenue
• R9: Rizal Avenue
• R10: Del Pan/Marcos Highway/MacArthur Highway

The rest of the areas in Metro Manila will still continue with the original window hours allowing affected vehicles to pass through from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM.

Makati clear of ZIKA

With recent headlines of the Zika virus reaching Metro Manila, the City Health Department of Makati assures its residents that city is clear of the virus.

One of the two patients found to have Zika was reported to be residing in the said city, but Makati clears that the patient is only working in Makati and lives in Mandaluyong. The said Zika-stricken patient is now recovering from the virus and doing well.
