When days of sunshine and blue skies are gone because rains and thunderstorms are taking over, but you and your crew are still itching to chill outside, what do you do?

Don’t worry if the bad weather is not permitting you to travel on the road, you can still have a great weekend with your friends—even if it means just staying nearby and spending time inside your favorite malls! Here are some fun things you can do inside your next-door shopping center, other than shopping!


1. A game of laser tag at LazerXtreme

Do you ever wonder what it’s like to fight in a warzone? Well if you want to de-stress with your coworkers, and really not think about work stuff while at it, or “destroy” your friends in a friendly fight, you can try LazerXtreme located in Market! Market! in Taguig. The Laser tag game can be played individually, within your group, or against other visitors if you’re feeling competitive. Their arena also includes ramps, secret chambers, and passages to make your game a little competitive and exciting!

LazerXtreme weekday rates starts at PhP410.00 for two games, while their weekend rates starts at PhP450.00 for two games as well.


2. Mind games at Mystery Manila and Breakout Room

If you and your friends are not that into physical activities but are more into mind games, you can try Mystery Manila. This establishment is a live escape room game that features various stories and scenarios that you need to escape from within 60 minutes or less. You and your friends will need to put together puzzles, find clues, and solve mysteries under an hour until you find a way out. Just make sure not to blame any of your friends in case you run out of time.

You can visit Mystery Manila’s branch in Ayala Malls The 30th and select one of their three mystery rooms. You can be part of a rebel resistance, or become a wizard or a detective for a day and outwit your friends. The price per game starts at PhP550 per person for a group of two people, but the more friends you bring, the cheaper the rates will be.

They also have branches in Libis, Quezon City; Jupiter, Makati City; Boracay Island, Malay, Aklan; and Century City Mall, Makati City.


3. Breakout Philippines

Another escape room that you and your friends can try is Breakout Philippines. They also offer various themed rooms that you need to solve within 45 minutes or you’ll be trapped forever! But kidding aside, one great thing about Breakout is if you and your friends failed the first time, you can try again for half the price if you’re a member! This way no one will be pointing fingers as to whose fault it is in case you run out of time.

Breakout Philippines’ branch in The Block, SM North EDSA offers great themed rooms that will make your hair stand. From zombies to deadly diseases, you can be part of cool story line until you breakout. Their weekday rates starts at PhP300 and their weekend rates from Friday to Sunday starts at PhP600 but will get cheaper depending on the number of players.

Other branches are located in Mandaluyong City; Loyola Heights, Quezon City,l and Bonifacio Global City, Taguig.




4. Thrill rides at SM MOA By the Bay Amusement Park

Mall of Asia is known for its size and the long line of shops and restaurants under its roof. But after having a heavy meal with your family or if you want to kill time with your friends, their Amusement Park is a great stopover. Aside from the famous MOA eye, there are also plenty of rides for kids and thrill rides for adults. Plus a nearby Cruise by the Bay is also a great activity if you want to try something different with your friends.

SM MOA By the Bay Amusement Park doesn’t have an entrance fee but you can pay for each ride individually. Price starts at PhP50 for the family rides and PhP100 for the thrill rides.


5. Archery atArrowland by Gandiva

Another competitive sport that you can try is Arrowland by Gandiva. Aside from having a great time with your friends, doing archery also has some physical and mental benefits. Despite being a stationary sport, archery helps develop upper body strength and improves your arm, chest, shoulder, and back muscles. It also improves one’s balance, coordination, and focus.

Arrowland by Gandiva in Mega Fashion Hall has 10 lanes with 10 meters distance from the target. They cater to newbies by offering barebows and mid to high end range of bows for the experts. Their basic shooting package starts at PhP250 for one person.

This oldie but goodie is still a must-visit whenever you want to have some fun. Coronado Lanes Bowling and Billiard Center offers bowling and billiards perfect for group of friends who want to spend some quality time together…other than karaoke! Their bowling alleys may look dated but they are still trying to be modern by installing digital scoreboards per lane to keep track of your scores while you play. The billiards area is not so bad either! They are well-lit and have plenty of tables perfect for some friendly competition.

Games in Coronado Lanes Bowling and Billiard Center are very affordable with their bowling rates starting at PhP100 and their shoe rental at PhP35. Their billiard games on the other hand start at PhP180 per table per hour.

Remember those roller blades in the ‘90s? Well you can still bring back those childhood memories, but this time in the form of skating! Even if you’re a newbie, SM Skating Rink is equipped with staffs that are willing to teach and assist you. There are also cute ‘polar bear’ support frames that you can your kids can hold onto if you’re not yet confident with your skills.

SM Skating Rink starts at PhP450 and you’ll be able to enjoy an unlimited time skating and playing with your friends. Gears are already part of the fee but lockers, polar bear, and guides come with an additional cost.
