The Philippine real estate industry is expected to grow through 2017, with residential developments increasing in the next six years. These are based on reports by Pinnacle Real Estate Consulting Services Inc. (Pre Csi) and real estate services firm JLL. Complementing the property boom are home and furniture stores which help property owners turn their spaces into a welcoming abode.

We asked our readers their favorite home improvement and furniture shops. Keep reading to find out which store topped our poll.

We start off our list with True Value, a brand under Robinsons Retail offering imported hardware and houseware items. Here, one can find products for home improvement, lawn and gardening tools, and building materials, to name a few. One unique service they have is computerized paint mixing at True Value Color Center, where customers can choose from 2,070 hues. They also have installation and key duplication services. True Value has 12 outlets in Metro Manila and six outlets in key cities.


6. Wilcon

At number six is Wilcon Depot a homegrown home improvement chain which carries building and finishing materials from local and international brands. Founded in 1977 by William Belo, Wilcon has gone far from its humble beginnings as a small hardware store manned by four people. Today, Wilcon has 17 branches in Metro Manila and 21 provincial stores. Aside from its big-box stores, the brand also has Wilcon Home Essentials , their mall-based format retail stores targeted towards consumers who are into do-it-yourself (DIY) projects.
